Phonics

Using the ipads and phonics apps in the classroom has been a great intervention strategy to develop children's skills. Here are some favourites.
Click on the pictures to purchase them in the itunes store.

Mr Thorne Does Phonics

Mr Thorne's phonics apps are fabulous! There are two apps to support the teaching of phonics, covering sounds, blends and tricky words - in an English accent! (£4.99  each) There is also a new matching pairs app (£2.49

Mr Thorne Does Phonics

We love using Mr Thorne's apps in class and so we told him! He is now using one of our photos in his app store :)

Pocket Phonics

Another favourite with my class. Practise writing the letters as you learn the sounds, then play some word games using the sounds.
£1.99

Twinkl phonics

Twinkl is the home of some great free educational resources. They are now moving into the world of educational apps and have a great phonics one that will compliment work going on in class.

There are 15 apps altogether, but the 'suite' (£4.99) includes most of them. The buried treasure game (£2.49) is a favourite of children when we play the board game version.

The phoneme pop suite is a great little addition to your phonics work too (£1.49)

Letter Lillies

A free app with the option to purchase more levels. You listen to the sounds given and match the correct letter. Three difficulty levels.

Hairy Letters

An app that was recommended by @skinnyboyevans and you can see his son doing his homework with it here. Learn letter names and sounds and practise your handwriting too!             £1.99

What would you add here?
